We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Data Scientist

Location: Lagos

Duties of the Position

• Work with business leaders to identify problems that can be resolved using data science techn iques.
• Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes.
• Apply business acumen to develop feasible data-based recommendations that will address organizational issues.
• Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data.
• Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies.
• Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns.
• Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
• Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or other quantitative field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years proven work experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst.
• Experience in data mining.
• Understanding of machine-learning and operations research
• Knowledge of R, SQL and Python; familiarity with Scala, Java or C++ is an asset
• Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau) and data frameworks (e.g. Hadoop)
• Analytical mind and business acumen
• Strong math skills (eg. statistics, algebra)
