Job Title: Cost and Inventory Accountant

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Overview

• The Cost and Inventory Accountant utilizes an understanding of the manufacturing accounting process to provide financial support to the company through cost analysis and monthly reporting.

Responsibilities

• Analyze actual costs and compare to standards
• Develop and maintain standard costs
• Perform analysis of variances and communicate issues and opportunities to management
• Manage day to day activities related to the cost system
• Perform month end closing activities and reports on a timely basis
• Handle inventory accounting, reporting and reconciliations
• Help conduct physical inventory
• Help with standard cost rolls annually

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or similar field
• 2 years’ experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Strong understanding of accounting principles
• Proficiency with computer software (Excel and Word)
• Excellent organizational, analytical and communications skills
• Ability to work independently
• Strong time management skills to meet deadlines
