Job Title: COREN Certified Civil Engineer (Rigid Pavement Road)

Location: Abuja and the Surrounding North Central States
Employment Type: Contract

Job Summary

• We are recruiting a COREN-certified Civil Engineer with proven experience in rigid pavement road design and construction.
• The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of concrete pavement technology, materials, and construction supervision, and will ensure projects are executed to the highest engineering and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and oversee rigid pavement (concrete) road construction projects from inception to completion.
• Prepare and review structural designs, pavement thickness calculations, reinforcement details, and construction drawings.
• Supervise all phases of construction to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality control procedures.
• Conduct site inspections and quality assurance tests for materials such as concrete, aggregates, and reinforcement.
• Coordinate with geotechnical engineers, surveyors, and other disciplines to ensure accurate design implementation.
• Monitor project schedules, progress, and budget utilization.
• Resolve technical issues and provide engineering solutions on-site.
• Ensure adherence to environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare progress reports, documentation, and as-built drawings.
• Support the project management team in planning and resource allocation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized institution.
• COREN certification is mandatory.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience, with at least 5 years specifically in rigid (concrete) pavement road construction.
• Strong knowledge of pavement design standards, mix design, reinforcement detailing, and curing methods.
• Proficiency in civil engineering design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or equivalent).
• Excellent project supervision, documentation, and reporting skills.
• Good communication and leadership abilities.
