Job Summary

• The Cook / Kitchen Assistant is responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food, while ensuring the kitchen remains clean, organized, and compliant with hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and quality standards.
• Assist with washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring ingredients.
• Keep the kitchen, work surfaces, and utensils clean and sanitized.
• Assist with receiving, unpacking, and storing food supplies.
• Maintain proper storage and labeling of food to prevent spoilage.
• Follow all food hygiene, safety, and health regulations.
• Assist chefs and kitchen staff during busy service periods.
• Dispose of waste properly and maintain cleanliness in food preparation areas.

Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in a kitchen role is an advantage.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques and hygiene practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Physical stamina for standing and moving for extended periods.

Work Environment:

• Exposure to heat, noise, and sharp utensils.
• Requires standing for long hours and occasional lifting.
