Job Title: Cook

Job Summary

• We are seeking a skilled and reliable Cook to prepare and cook meals in accordance with approved recipes, quality standards and service requirements.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring consistency in food taste, quality and presentation, maintaining proper food handling and hygiene standards and supporting efficient kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved recipes and specifications.
• Ensure consistency in taste, quality, portion sizes, and presentation.
• Prepare ingredients and organise cooking stations before service.
• Ensure meals are prepared and served within required timelines.
• Monitor food quality throughout the preparation and cooking process.
• Properly store and handle food ingredients.
• Maintain clean and hygienic cooking areas and equipment.
• Monitor ingredient usage and minimise food waste.
• Work closely with chefs, kitchen assistants, and service staff.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operating procedures.

Performance Expectations

• Prepare and cook meals consistently according to approved recipes and standards.
• Maintain consistent taste, quality, portion sizes, and presentation.
• Ensure food is prepared and served within required timelines.
• Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene and food safety.
• Properly handle, store, and monitor ingredients.
• Minimise food waste and unnecessary ingredient usage.
• Keep cooking areas and equipment clean and organised.
• Coordinate effectively with other kitchen and service staff.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of SSCE / WAEC, OND, or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience as a Cook in a hotel, restaurant, catering business, or similar food service environment.
• Demonstrable knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Ability to prepare a variety of Nigerian and/or continental dishes.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, portion control, and kitchen sanitation.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet service timelines.
• Culinary training or relevant certification is an added advantage.

Salary
N70,000 – N150,000 / month.
