Future Resilience and Development Foundation (FRAD) is a registered non-profit organization with the corporate affairs commission, in accordance with the Nigerian Law, FRAD work in both humanitarian and development sector to build the resilience of Vulnerable populations through our interventions in thematic areas of WASH, Nutrition, Protection, Education and early recovery and livelihood. Over the years, FRAD has reached more than 19,000 children, men, women and girls through its various interventions.

FRAD work with the Mission to build the Resilience of vulnerable populations using locally available solutions that ensure participation and bring meaningful development, leaving no one behind. Our Mission and Vision guides our programming to ensure no one is left behind.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Consultant (Capacity Building of Dairy Farmers) 

Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Duration: 3 Months within the project implementation period

Objective

  • To strengthen the technical, financial, and organizational capacity of 100 dairy farmers (including 56% women and youth) through structured training programs that enhance dairy productivity, financial literacy, and cooperative governance.

Scope of Work
Financial Management & Bookkeeping:

  • Basic bookkeeping, income/expenditure tracking, and record‑keeping
  • Formation and strengthening of VSLAs
  • Cooperative governance and financial accountability.

Modern Dairy Production:

  • Hygienic milk handling and quality control
  • Improved animal husbandry, feeding, and breeding
  • Climate‑smart dairy practices and fodder production.

Basic Veterinary Knowledge:

  • Disease identification and prevention
  • Use of mineral/salt lick blocks and feed formulation
  • Routine herd health management.

Training on Biodigestion and develop training Materials:

  • Develop manuals, handouts, and visual aids in English and Kanuri/Hausa
  • Conduct field demonstrations and practical sessions.

Deliverables

  • Training curriculum and modules
  • Attendance sheets and pre/post‑training assessments
  • Comprehensive training report with photos and recommendations
  • Copies of all training materials.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Agribusiness, Veterinary Science, or related fields
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in livestock/dairy value chain training
  • Experience with rural communities, cooperatives, and VSLAs
  • Fluency in English and Kanuri/Hausa.
