Job Title: Consultant for Analysis and Report Writing in MMC and Jere

Location: Borno
Employment Type: Contract
Length of Service Contract: Up to 6 month
Reporting and Supervision: Reports directly to:Nigeria Context Analysis Team (NCAT) team

Mercy corps Nigeria is operational in the following states: Adamawa, Benue, Borno, Ebonyi, FCT- Abuja, Gombe, Kaduna, Kebbi, Katsina, Kano, Lagos, Niger, Plateau and Yobe. Mercy Corps Nigeria is expanding through the E-WASH into Imo, Abia and Delta states. Northeast covers the 6 states of: Borno, Adamawa, Gombe, Yobe, Taraba, Bauchi with more than 400 staff across offices where more than 980,000 beneficiaries are served.

Analysis and Reporting Consultant Objective
The consultant will be engaged primarily to assist NCAT in the tasks related to the analysis and reporting of rapid assessments conducted in Jere LGA, Borno. The Mercy Corps NCAT team will be responsible for:

  • Review of Data Processing and Analyses
  • Review of Draft Reports

Role of the Consultant

  • Conduct desk/literature reviews within the Northeast context.
  • Analyze quantitative interviews, focus group discussions, and key informant interviews, extract key findings, and provide recommendations based on the findings.
  • Document data processing and analysis procedures in a timely, and clear manner.
  • Deliver analysis and draft reports within 1-2 weeks, depending on the scope, coverage, and requirements.
  • Available and accessible online to get information and provide updates (virtually, through mobile phones, and WhatsApp, among others).
  • Support any other tasks assigned by NCAT within the developmental and humanitarian context In Northeast Nigeria.

Basic Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Should have at least a Master’s Degree in any of the Social Sciences.
  • Be knowledgeable about qualitative and quantitative data analysis
  • Should be knowledgeable about the development and humanitarian context in Northeast Nigeria
  • Should have the ability to support the development of research methodology.
  • Should be able to pay attention to details during analysis and reporting.
  • Be willing to work extra hours to deliver within a specified timeline.
  • Previous experience in processing data, analyzing data, and writing quality reports within specified thematic areas.
  • Ability to accommodate and withstand pressure to deliver timely and quality reports.
  • Should be fluent in English Language (both oral and written).
