Amaiden Energy Nigeria Limited (formerly Moody International Nigeria Limited) was established in 1996 as a partnership between Moody International Group and Nigerian investors. Since commencing operations in March 1997 the company continues to grow and exerts its presence in numerous Projects in the Nigeria Oil and Gas Industry.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Construction Field Engineer – EXPAT

LocationAlaro City, Lagos
Job Type: Contract

Responsibilities

  • Under the general direction of the Construction Managers, the Construction Field Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing construction activities.
  • The Construction Field Engineer is primarily responsible for focusing on the technical and engineering aspects of construction projects.
  • This role demands a proficient understanding of construction methodologies and adherence to plans, specifications and quality metrics while managing site-level activities.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Oversight:

  • Review and analyze construction drawings, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and Construction Method Statements to ensure compliance and feasibility.
  • Make informed technical decisions on-site and escalate to the construction managers to address immediate technical and operational concerns.
  • Work in the field to directly oversee and manage the construction activities, including coordinating and directing workers, subcontractors, and suppliers

Quality Control, Safety and Inspections:

  • Manage site-level activities, including conducting quality control inspections to verify compliance with project specifications and safety regulations.
  • Provide technical support to construction teams, fostering adherence to industry best practices and construction standards
  • Enforce safety regulations and building codes, and conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards or violations.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and permits.

Communication and Liaison:

  • Act as a liaison between the project management team and field personnel to address technical issues, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Facilitate discussions in regard to project challenges, offering solutions and adjustments as required.

Documentation Management:

  • Maintain detailed documentation of daily activities, progress reports, and field observations to support project tracking and compliance.
  • Prepare program of works, maintain accurate records of progress, costs, and quality control measure.
  • Handle Requests for Information (RFIs), NCRs, submittals, and other project-related documents, ensuring timely responses and resolution of queries.

Problem-Solving:

  • Utilize strong problem-solving skills to address technical challenges encountered in the field, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines and objectives.

Implementation of Directives:

  • Implement directives and plans established by the management team, ensuring that site activities align with the overall project goals and objectives.

Other Duties:

  • Jointly participate in weekly site meetings with Construction and Delivery Team and all contractors; checking progress; anticipating future works and potential interference with the clients;
  • Enforce demanded OSHA, and Alaro City’s safety standards and report all safety hazards to the Safety Officer
  • Ensure application and compliance with Group Anti-Corruption and Bribery Policy, Anti-Money Laundering Policy, Clean Site Policy and Health.
  • Ensure detailed implementation of Health and Safety policies on site at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned (i.e., assist project development teams and other departments as needed, participate in required training as applicable, etc.).
  • Perform any other assignment that may be assigned to you by the management of Alaro City.

Requirements
Hard skills and experience:

  • Architect / civil or structural engineering graduate or its equivalent; registered with a recognized, reputable professional Engineering body (within or outside Nigeria)
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Construction Execution and Supervision
  • Experience in Cost Estimation, Civil/Architectural Designs, Budgeting, and Scheduling
  • Experience in Project Scheduling and Progress Status Report Writing
  • Experience in site, management and performance tracking and reporting
  • Experience in delegating and managing the workforce.

Soft skills:

  • Strong commercial judgment and goal-oriented.
  • Mature, pragmatic and highly adaptable
  • Communication, Organisational and technical skills
  • Team player but comfortable working autonomously.
  • Computer literate
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Rigorous and organized approach.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Hands-on, ready to roll up the sleeves.
