Job Title: Compliance Officer

Location: Lagos

Job Purpose

• To support the implementation and management of an effective compliance framework that provides reasonable assurance that business activities are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, corporate policies, and ethical standards.
• The role is responsible for monitoring compliance obligations, conducting assurance reviews, supporting regulatory engagements, and fostering a culture of compliance across the organization.

The Job

• Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of the Company’s compliance management framework.
• Providing guidance to stakeholders on regulatory requirements, compliance obligations, and corporate policies.
• Identifying and assessing regulatory compliance risks in collaboration with Legal, Risk Management, and business stakeholders.
• Monitoring regulatory developments and advising business units on emerging compliance requirements and their operational impact.
• Conducting compliance assurance reviews and assessments in line with approved compliance monitoring plans.
• Evaluating the effectiveness of compliance controls and recommending corrective actions to address identified gaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or a related discipline.

Experience:

• Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in Compliance, Risk Management, Internal Audit, Internal Controls, Governance, or related assurance functions.
• Experience conducting compliance reviews, risk assessments, and control evaluations.

The Person Must:

• Possess a sound understanding of regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and risk management principles.
• Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and assess compliance risks.
• Have experience evaluating internal controls and monitoring compliance with policies and regulations.
