Job Title: Client Acquisition and Retention Executive

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time (Hybrid)
Brands: Tabs Atelier | Mayd by Tabs | Bejeweled by Tabs
Industry: Fashion, Lifestyle & Accessories
Work Arrangement: 2 Days On-site | 3 Days Remote

About the Role

  • Tabs is seeking a commercially driven, resourceful and relationship-focused Client Acquisition & Retention Executive to drive customer and revenue growth across its three brands — Tabs Atelier, Mayd by Tabs and Bejeweled by Tabs.
  • The primary focus of this role is client acquisition and retention.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to build a clientele from the ground up, actively identify and generate new leads, convert both self-generated and company-provided leads into paying clients, and develop strong relationships that encourage repeat purchases, referrals and long-term loyalty across the three brands.
  • This is not a passive sales or customer-service role. The successful candidate must be comfortable going into the market, identifying prospective clients, initiating conversations, creating sales opportunities and taking ownership of the journey from prospect to paying client and ultimately to repeat client.
  • The role requires someone who is commercially aware, persuasive without being overly aggressive, creative about finding new business and genuinely interested in building relationships.

The Three-Brand Portfolio

  • The Client Acquisition & Retention Executive will support customer and revenue growth across:
  • Tabs Atelier – the core fashion offering of the business.
  • Mayd by Tabs – the complementary fashion/lifestyle offering within the Tabs portfolio.
  • Bejeweled by Tabs – the brand’s jewellery and accessories offering.
  • The Executive will be expected to understand the distinct product offering and target customer of each brand and identify opportunities to cross-sell across the portfolio.
  • A customer acquired through one brand should therefore be viewed as a potential client of the wider Tabs ecosystem where relevant.

Core Responsibilities
Client Acquisition:

  • The primary responsibility of the role is to continuously grow the customer base across all three brands.

The Executive will:

  • Actively identify and approach prospective clients.
  • Build an individual client portfolio from scratch.
  • Generate qualified leads independently rather than relying solely on enquiries received by the company.
  • Research and identify potential customer segments for each of the three brands.
  • Develop practical approaches for reaching and engaging prospective customers.
  • Leverage appropriate digital platforms, referrals, networking opportunities, communities and other approved channels to generate business.
  • Introduce prospective clients to the most relevant Tabs brand and product offering.
  • Identify opportunities for individual, group, corporate, occasion and referral-based business where appropriate.
  • Consistently develop a healthy pipeline of prospective clients.
  • Meet agreed weekly and monthly client-acquisition targets.

Lead Generation:
The Executive will be responsible for managing two categories of leads:

  • Company-Generated Leads: Prospects arising from the brands’ social-media platforms, campaigns, referrals, enquiries, walk-ins and other company channels.
  • Self-Generated Leads: Prospects independently identified and developed by the Executive through prospecting, networking, referrals, social selling and other approved business-development activities.
  • For both categories, the Executive will:
    • Qualify leads appropriately.
    • Establish the client’s needs and interests.
    • Maintain accurate records of each lead.
    • Develop appropriate follow-up actions.
    • Move qualified prospects through the sales pipeline.
    • Consistently follow up until the opportunity is converted or appropriately closed.
  • Self-generated leads and the revenue resulting from them will form an important part of the role’s performance assessment.

Lead Conversion & Revenue Generation:

  • Generating leads alone will not constitute successful performance.
  • The Executive must actively convert opportunities into paying clients.

Responsibilities include:

  • Engage prospects professionally and understand their individual needs.
  • Recommend suitable products across the three brands.
  • Communicate product value, quality and brand positioning effectively.
  • Respond appropriately to customer questions and buying objections.
  • Follow up consistently on prospective clients who have expressed interest but have not purchased.
  • Convert enquiries into confirmed and paid orders.
  • Upsell and cross-sell relevant products where appropriate.
  • Work towards agreed individual revenue targets.
  • Take ownership of assigned opportunities from initial engagement through conversion.
  • The objective is not simply to create a large contact list, but to build a productive clientele that generates measurable revenue.

Client Portfolio Development:

  • The successful candidate will be expected to gradually build and manage an identifiable portfolio of clients.

The Executive will:

  • Maintain accurate records of acquired clients.
  • Understand individual client preferences and purchase history.
  • Develop appropriate relationships with clients beyond the first transaction.
  • Identify high-value and high-potential clients.
  • Maintain appropriate engagement with existing clients.
  • Identify future purchasing opportunities based on customer preferences, occasions and previous buying behaviour.
  • Grow the value of the assigned client portfolio over time.

Client Retention:

  • The Executive’s responsibility does not end after the first sale.
  • The role will actively work towards turning first-time buyers into repeat and loyal customers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct appropriate post-purchase follow-up.
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients.
  • Re-engage leads and convert to customers.
  • Reactivate dormant customers.
  • Keep clients appropriately informed about new collections, launches and relevant products.
  • Encourage repeat purchases without excessive or intrusive communication.
  • Identify and resolve factors that may discourage repeat business.
  • Obtain useful customer feedback and communicate relevant insights to Management.
  • Support initiatives designed to improve customer loyalty and lifetime value.

Referrals & Client Network Growth:

  • Satisfied clients should become a source of new business.

The Executive will:

  • Encourage appropriate customer referrals.
  • Follow up professionally on referred prospects.
  • Build relationships with individuals and communities capable of introducing potential customers.
  • Identify opportunities to expand the brands through word-of-mouth and relationship-based selling.
  • Track clients acquired through referrals.

Cross-Selling Across the Three Brands:

  • A major commercial responsibility of the role will be identifying opportunities across the Tabs portfolio.
  • For example, a client acquired through Tabs Atelier may have a suitable need for products from Bejeweled by Tabs or Mayd by Tabs.
    • The Executive should therefore:
    • Understand the products and positioning of all three brands.
    • Identify appropriate cross-selling opportunities.
    • Introduce existing clients to complementary products.
    • Increase the overall value of each client relationship.
    • Avoid inappropriate or excessive selling that may negatively affect the customer experience.

Client Relationship Management:
The Executive will:

  • Provide a professional and personalised customer experience.
  • Respond promptly to client enquiries during agreed working periods.
  • Maintain appropriate communication throughout the buying process.
  • Follow up on client concerns and escalate operational issues where necessary.
  • Protect the reputation and image of all three brands.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information.
  • Ensure all client information remains within company-approved systems and devices.

CRM, Pipeline & Record Management:

  • Every prospect and client interaction should be properly documented.

The Executive will:

  • Maintain an accurate client and prospect database.
  • Record self-generated and company-generated leads separately.
  • Track each prospect through the appropriate sales stage.
  • Record follow-up activities and outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate sales attribution records.
  • Update customer purchase history where applicable.
  • Maintain records of repeat clients, dormant clients and referrals.
  • Ensure that client data remains the property of the company and is appropriately handed over upon exit.

Performance Reporting:
The Executive will submit concise weekly and monthly reports covering:

  • New leads generated;
  • Self-generated leads;
  • Company-generated leads received;
  • Prospects contacted;
  • Leads converted;
  • New paying clients acquired;
