Job Description

• A Civil Engineer job involves planning, designing, constructing, and maintaining essential infrastructure like roads, bridges, dams, water systems, and buildings, ensuring projects meet safety, efficiency, and environmental standards using CAD software and site analysis, while also managing budgets, schedules, and regulatory compliance for projects that shape communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Planning:Develop blueprints and plans for new construction or improvements, using computer modeling
• Project Management:Oversee projects from conception to completion, managing timelines, resources, and budgets.
• Site Analysis:Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and data analysis.
• Constructions oversight:Supervise construction activities, ensuring adherence to plans and quality.
• Compliance:Ensure projects meet local, state, and federal regulations, securing necessary permits.
• Reporting:Prepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, and documentation.
• Liaison:Communicate with clients, government officials, other engineers, and contractors.

Common Projects Include:

• Roads, bridges, tunnels, and railways
• Water supply, sewage, and drainage systems
• Dams, canals, and pipelines
• Buildings (commercial, residential, public)
• Airports and harbors.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
• Proficiency with engineer software
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for teamwork and client interaction.
• Knowledge of construction best practices and relevant laws.

Work Environment:

• A mix of office work (design, planning) and site visits (supervision).
• May involve travel, long hours, and working in various conditions.

Salary
N120,000 – N150,000 per month.
