We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Child Protection and Education in Emergency Team Leader (CP/EiE TL)

Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Employment Type: Full-time
Contract Duration: 12 Months

General Description of the Position

  • Under the direct supervision of the CP/EiE PM, the CP/EiE Team Leader will focus on supporting a qualitative, efficient and accountable implementation of Tdh’s CP/EiE activities in the areas of intervention in line with Tdh approach.
  • S/He works in line with the project strategy based on the programmatic framework defined for the intervention in compliance with all related policies, rules, procedures and good practices.

The CP/EiE Team Leader’s responsibilities embrace:

  • Team Management

  • Coordination and Representation.

Key Responsibilities (Include but are not Limited To)
Team Management:

  • Under the supervision of her/his line manager, define the team set-up and recruit accordingly
  • Manage and support the CP/EiE team under direct supervision
  • Plan and monitor the work progress through regular meetings and action plans follow-up
  • Appraise the team under direct supervision.
  • Assess the training and capacity building needs for the CP/EiE team in close collaboration with the CP/EiE management.

Program Management:

  • Ensure the implementation of the CP/EiE projects in accordance with the multiple objectives, activities and targets outlined within donor proposals and budgets.
  • Coordinate planning and implementation of the activities in the areas of intervention
  • Ensure the implementation of weekly and monthly work plans with clear objectives setting short-term, mid-term and long-term priorities.
  • Support her/his line manager to design concept notes and proposals based on pre-identified needs (situational needs assessments).

Site Management:

  • Guarantee timely and systematic collection of all HR documents (daily attendance sheets, leave plans and requests) by the designated staff before submission to the HR department
  • Prepare and submit timely purchase and service requests in line with the project needs to her/his line manager for validation
  • Ensure the strict compliance by the team under supervision with all logistics rules and procedures (i.e.: stock release form, asset responsibility form, etc.)
  • Ensure the proper use of equipment and material provided to the team
  • Ensure strict compliance of hygiene, safety and security measures on sites of intervention for/by staff and beneficiaries.
  • Prepare and submit security incident reports to her/his line manager.

Monitoring & Evaluation:

  • Ensure regular assessments of Tdh activities through technical follow-up sessions, spot checks and monitoring visits aiming at improving the quality and efficiency of the intervention (lessons learned and capitalization)
  • Coordinate and ensure collection of quantitative and qualitative data in respect to the confidentiality policies and procedures
  • Ensure that monitoring system documents and tools are understood and properly filed by the team and systematically submitted to the CP/EiE PM and/or MEAL department.
  • Liaise and coordinate with the MEAL department to facilitate the implementation and compliance with the MEAL plans designed for the projects.

Reporting:

  • Ensure regular communication with the CP/EiE PM about updates, achievements and challenges through activity progress reports, meetings and ad-hoc communication
  • Assist her/his line manager to feed into reports for donors, (sub-)sector, local authorities, HQ and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure official reporting to her/his line manager of any incident related to Child Protection and Tdh policies that could impact on the delivery of activities.

Coordination and Representation:

  • Participate to internal meetings aiming to improve inter-department interactions
  • Contribute to develop synergies with community leaders, local authorities, (I)NGOs and other relevant stakeholders
  • Participate to external meetings (coordination, sub-sectors/sectors working groups, authorities, etc.)

Other:

  • Agree to comply with Tdh Code of Conduct and promote Child Safeguarding policy
  • Report serious cases of abuse on children that she/he would be aware of in Tdh’s intervention locations. Strict confidentiality must be respected
  • Adhere to and enforce current administrative and logistical regulations and procedures
  • The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and levels of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.

Job Requirements
Experience / Competencies:

  • Master’s Degree and / or proven professional qualification in Child Protection / Education
  • At least 3-year experience in CP/Education fields (in emergency) at a similar position within (I)NGOs
  • Proven technical knowledge in Project Cycle Management and demonstrated experience in managing community-based child protection and education projects.
  • Prior Team management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in capacity building, coaching and mentoring.
  • Excellent IT knowledge: Microsoft Pack Office.

Skills:

  • Excellent organizational skills including ability to respect deadlines, priorities with a problem-solving approach
  • Excellent oral and written communication in English.
  • High sense of integrity, rigour, proactivity and flexibility.

Net Salary
N515,000 monthly.
