Royal Blue Contractors is one of the leading input distribution Company in the agricultural value chain in Nigeria. We are involved in trading and selling of fertilizers such as Urea, NPK (15:15:15, 12:12:17, 20:10:10), Organic and liquid, various other agro-inputs including certified seeds, and agro-chemicals such as compost, insecticides and herbicides. Over the last 12 months, the company has traded Urea fertilizer through its distribution channels to the tune of 210,000 tons amounting to NGN 26,600,000,000.00 (Twenty six billion six hundred million naira) which made us a leading distributor of the input products in Nigeria

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Chief Operations Officer

Location: Kano

Reporting To: Managing Directors / CEO

Job Summary

  • The Operations Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of projects that are assigned by the organization.
  • This includes directing the activities of team members, managing resources, and ensuring that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and meets quality standards.
  • The Operations Project Manager will also be responsible for ensuring that the project meets customer expectations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop project plans and ensure that all tasks are completed on time and within budget
  • Create and manage project schedules, resources, and budgets
  • Monitor project progress and identify areas of risk or opportunity
  • Manage stakeholders and provide periodic updates
  • Identify and resolve project issues and conflicts
  • Ensure that project deliverables are met
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance processes
  • Maintain project documents, records, and files
  • Develop and coach project teams, including providing feedback and guidance
  • Coordinate, prepare, update and manage the project(s) work plan(s), operational manuals(s) and information for planned deployment of short-term expertise and procurement actions, and monitor their implementation consistent with RBC rules and procedures, donor requirements and political/security constraints;
  • manage beneficiary selection and follow up processes to ensure compliance with the criteria and manage the scoring and ranking of the applications for investment support in compliance with the project document(s) and operational manual(s);
  • lead the consultative preparation of the operational manuals(s), tools and SOPs and ensure their implementation to administer processing / improvement investment support modality;
  • Keep track of the main milestones and activities and deliverables, with regards to the gender/age/geographical considerations in the outreach activities of the project and lead immediate corrective actions with the project team and partners to ensure effective and timely participation.
  • Coordinate the training and on the job coaching activities addressing the enhancement of the capacities and service delivery of the related units of MoU and other partners.
  • Assist in the identification, help select and supervise the work of the local contractors involved in project implementation (including local Partners and CBOs, contractors and suppliers);
  • Ensure timely delivery of services by consultants, suppliers, contractors and implementing partners;
  • Maintain effective relationships with and ensure the buy-in of project partners and stakeholders including private sector organizations and identify and develop opportunities for partnership where possible;
  • Ensure familiarity and compliance with RBC commitments to Accountability to Affected Population including prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse guidelines and WECAN Grievance Redress Mechanism.
  • Organize, and prepare background information and updates on project progress (including achievements and bottlenecks) for regular project meetings;
  • prepare project progress reports in line with donor requirements and RBC rules and procedures in a timely manner.

  • Internally: Chief Executive Officer, Managing Director, GBV, others and all staff in other departments
  • Externally: Stakeholders, CBOs, Actors.
