The Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti, is a Federal Government-owned, foremost, cutting-edge, primary, secondary and tertiary health service provider and clinical training institution in Nigeria. The hospital, which is one of the fastest growing teaching hospitals in the country, was established in 1998 by the Federal Government to provide affordable, qualitative and accessible medicare to every state of the federation, particularly to the people living in the grassroots of Ekiti State and its environment. At inception in 1999, the Hospital had six departments and currently has twenty-two clinical and four nonclinical departments.

Job Title: Chief Medical Director

Location: Ido-Ekiti, Ekiti

Responsibilities

• The Chief Medical Director is the Head/Chief Executive of the Institution.
• He/She is accountable to the Board of Management and the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare.
• The Chief Medical Director is charged with the responsibility of executing policies and matters affecting the day-to-day management of the affairs of the Hospital.

Requirements
Interested candidates must have the following qualifications:

• Candidates must be a Medical or Dental Practitioner registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) with not less than twelve (12) years post-graduation.
• Candidate must possess a current Practising License from MDCN;
• Candidate must be a fellow of either the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or the West African Postgraduate Medical College or its equivalent registrable by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria;
• Candidate must have been a Consultant for a minimum of five (5) years;
• Candidate must be medically fit (attach Evidence);
• Candidate must be of proven good character and integrity;
• Evidence of Medical Research(es) is an added advantage.
• Administrative qualification and experience an added advantages.
• Knowledge of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is an added advantage
• The attraction of funded grant(s) by an individual candidate is an added benefit.

Salary and Allowances
Salary and allowances will be in accordance with the Public Service Salary Structure for this category of officer.
