Job Title: Cashier

Location: Awka, Anambra
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Overview

• The Cashier is responsible for processing customer transactions accurately and efficiently, receiving payments, issuing receipts, maintaining proper cash records, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Process cash, POS, bank transfers, and other customer payments accurately.
• Issue receipts and invoices for completed transactions.
• Maintain accurate records of daily sales and cash collections.
• Balance the cash register and reconcile transactions at the end of each shift.
• Ensure all cash and payment transactions are properly accounted for.
• Handle customer enquiries and resolve basic payment-related issues professionally.
• Report discrepancies, shortages, or excess cash to the appropriate supervisor.
• Safeguard cash, receipts, and other financial documents.
• Support the sales team in ensuring smooth customer checkout and payment processes.
• Comply with company policies and procedures relating to cash handling and financial controls.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

Key Requirements

• Minimum of an HND / B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Previous cashier, retail, or customer service experience is an advantage.
• Good numerical and basic accounting skills.
• Proficiency in POS systems and basic computer applications.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Honest, reliable, and trustworthy.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle cash responsibly.
• Good customer service orientation.
• Female is preferred (for gender balance).
