Job Title: Cash Officer

Location: Opic-Plaza, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• The Cash Officer will be responsible for handling daily cash transactions, maintaining accurate records of cash receipts and payments, and ensuring proper reconciliation of cash balances.
• The role requires a high level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail in managing the Company’s cash-related activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, count, and verify cash and other payments received at the designated location.
• Maintain accurate records of all cash transactions and ensure proper documentation.
• Prepare daily cash reports and submit them to the appropriate supervisor.
• Reconcile physical cash balances with records and promptly report any discrepancies.
• Process approved cash payments and ensure all supporting documents are properly maintained.
• Assist with bank deposits and other cash-related banking transactions as assigned.
• Monitor cash balances and ensure adequate funds are available for approved transactions.
• Verify payment documents, receipts, and supporting vouchers before processing transactions.
• Maintain proper filing and safekeeping of cash-related documents.
• Assist with periodic cash counts and internal audits.
• Ensure compliance with the Company’s financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Report suspected errors, irregularities, or discrepancies to the appropriate authority.
• Perform other finance-related duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

Qualifications and Requirements

• ND or B.Sc. in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 0–2 years of relevant work experience; fresh graduates with relevant skills may be considered.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and cash management procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle financial information responsibly.
• High level of integrity and trustworthiness.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
