Job Title: Business Development Manager (Oil and Gas)

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Purpose

  • To identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities for the company, ensuring sustainable growth through strategic planning, targeted sales efforts, and market analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a pipeline of new business opportunities aligned with company goals.
  • Set, monitor, and achieve sales targets, aligning strategies to exceed company objectives.
  • Ensure regular monitoring and management of the NipeX portal, identifying relevant opportunities, and coordinating timely submission of required documentation.
  • Screen, prepare, and manage tenders for new contracts, including analysing market strategies, deal requirements, and financial evaluations.
  • Lead contract negotiations and facilitate the execution of business agreements.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor strategies, and industry developments to position the company competitively.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to close out pending tasks, align on operational needs, and improve customer service.
  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships, fostering long-term business partnerships.
  • Maintain an updated database of clients and prospective customers.
  • Prepare accurate sales forecasts, performance reports, and market analysis for management.
  • Resolve customer complaints promptly and maintain high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding of new clients and seamless project delivery.
  • Provide regular reports on sales activities, pipeline status, and forecasted business development outcomes.
  • Other tasks s assigned by line manager

Key Accountabilities

  • Achieving sales and revenue growth targets.
  • Securing new contracts via NipeX and other tender processes.
  • Maintaining updated records of market insights and client interactions.
  • Accuracy of sales forecasts and reporting
  • Compliance with credit policies and reduction of bad debts

Key Skills,Experience and Qualifications required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of sales experience, with at least 5 years in the oil and gas sector.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing client relationships.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of depot operations, petroleum product sales, and market trends.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple clients and tasks efficiently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM

Salary
N700,000 Monthly.
