About the Role

• We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Lead to drive the adoption of our cooperative society management software.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and converting cooperative societies, thrift societies, unions, credit unions, and related organisations into clients while building strong long-term business relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and target cooperative societies, thrift societies, credit unions, unions, and similar organisations.
• Generate leads through networking, association meetings, referrals, online platforms, and direct outreach.
• Research potential clients, industry trends, and market opportunities to build a strong sales pipeline.
• Engage decision-makers and understand their business and operational needs.
• Conduct product demonstrations and clearly communicate the value and benefits of the software.
• Prepare tailored proposals and presentations based on client requirements.
• Manage the sales process from prospecting and qualification through negotiation and closing.
• Negotiate payment plans, contract duration, volume packages, and onboarding arrangements within approved company guidelines.
• Build and maintain long-term client relationships to drive renewals, referrals, and repeat business.
• Work closely with product, technical, implementation, and support teams to ensure smooth client onboarding.
• Track sales activities, pipeline performance, revenue forecasts, and conversion rates.
• Provide market and customer feedback to support product and sales strategy improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in business development, B2B sales, SaaS, or software sales.
• Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
• Experience selling to cooperative societies, financial institutions, unions, or community-based organisations is an advantage.
• Strong lead generation, negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong relationship-building and client management abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
•  Basic knowledge of accounting principles and cooperative financial operations is highly preferred.
• Self-motivated, organised, target-driven, and comfortable working independently.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings.
