Job Title: Business Development Executive (Laboratory)

Job Description

• We are looking to hire a Business Development Executive who will provide sales and marketing support to the Business Development department by understanding client testing requirements and recommending appropriate laboratory services,developing new customer relationships and maintain existing ones.
• The ideal candidate has expertise in sales of of laboratory testing and analysisservices.

Responsibilities

• Understand client testing requirements and recommend appropriate laboratory services.
• Develop and convert new business opportunities and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Drive customer retention, account growth, cross-selling, and upselling.
• Prepare and negotiate quotations, proposals, contracts, and commercial terms.
• Conduct market research and identify new sectors and business opportunities.
• Work closely with laboratory and technical teams to develop client solutions.
• Monitor sales performance, customer trends, and business opportunities.
• Prepare sales reports, forecasts, dashboards, and management insights.
• Participate in client meetings, presentations, industry events, tenders, and strategic business development activities.

Academic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (Minimum of Second Class Upper) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Industrial Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Food Science, Environmental Science, or a related field.

Working Experience / Requirements:

• 3–5 years’ proven experience in business development, technical sales, laboratory services, scientific sales, pharmaceutical/industrial sales, or a related role.
• Demonstrable track record in customer acquisition, negotiation, account management, and customer retention.
• Good knowledge of laboratory techniques, analytical methods, testing parameters, and laboratory operations.
• Familiarity with techniques such as HPLC, GC/GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, AAS, ICP-OES/ICP-MS, UV-Vis, proximate analysis, microbiological and physicochemical testing will be an advantage.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to translate technical knowledge into business opportunities.
• Ability to work independently, meet targets, and manage multiple client relationships effectively.

Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer applications
• Cognate experience in Sales / Marketing of Laboratoryreagents and testing services.
• Strong report writing and documentation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
• Proactive, adaptable, and solution-oriented mindset
• Willingness and ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly.
