Job Summary

• We are looking for a Blasting Helper to join our team at Dangote Cement Plc. As a Blasting Helper, you will be responsible for assisting in filling blast holes with explosives and detonating explosives to dislodge limestone and rock.
• You will ensure the proper handling and storage of explosives and accessories, as well as follow safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in loading explosives in blast holes by hand or direct movement of bulk explosives trucks to load holes.
• Assemble primer charges using selected detonators, fuses, detonating cords, and other materials.
• Handle, store, and transport explosives and accessories in accordance with regulations
• Achieve good fragmentation through proper stemming and good connection at all times.
• Follow safety procedures and ensure that safety regulations are observed
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Blaster

Requirements

• A Secondary School Certificate
• Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in blasting or around any mining activities
• Knowledge of explosives handling and storage regulations
• Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment
• Good communication and teamwork skills
