Job Title: Ballistic Fabrication Engineer

Location: Ogun

About the Role

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on engineer to join their team in the fabrication of ballistic-grade helmets and vests.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronics engineering, with practical experience in advanced manufacturing processes and a passion for precision-driven innovation.

Key Responsibilities
Fabrication and Production:

  • Design, develop, and oversee the fabrication process for ballistic-grade helmets and vests using advanced engineering principles.
  • Utilize advanced manufacturing techniques, including molding, composite layering, and precision machining, to meet industry standards.
  • Conduct research to identify materials suitable for ballistic protection, such as aramid fibers, high-strength polyethylene, and advanced composites.
  • Create CAD models and engineering drawings for prototypes and production designs.

Material Analysis and Selection:

  • Analyze the physical and mechanical properties of materials to ensure compliance with ballistic protection standards.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to source high-quality materials for manufacturing.

Manufacturing Process Optimization:

  • Oversee the fabrication process, including molding, layering, and assembly, to ensure high-quality production.
  • Develop and implement efficient production workflows to optimize output and minimize defects.
  • Ensure the use of precision tools and equipment during fabrication to meet safety and performance standards.

Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct thorough testing and quality checks to ensure all products meet ballistic-grade standards and certifications.
  • Implement and maintain strict adherence to safety and regulatory compliance requirements.

Technical Oversight:

  • Operate and maintain fabrication machinery and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and optimize processes for efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or MSc in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics).
  • 3 – 5 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, particularly in ballistic materials, composites, or similar industries.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and other engineering tools.
  • Expertise in composite fabrication, molding, and material testing.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for machinery and production systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
