Job Summary

• We are seeking a skilled and experienced Auto Mechanic with strong practical knowledge of automotive engineering and mechanical systems.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and maintaining vehicles and automotive components to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in vehicles and automotive components.
• Perform routine servicing and preventive maintenance on vehicles.
• Inspect engines, transmissions, suspension, braking, steering, cooling, and other mechanical systems.
• Dismantle, repair, replace, and reassemble defective mechanical components.
• Use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and workshop equipment appropriately.
• Read and interpret basic engineering drawings, service manuals, and technical specifications.
• Identify mechanical problems and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Work closely with Engineers, Technicians, Welders, Electricians, and other Production/Maintenance personnel.
• Carry out mechanical adjustments and testing after repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and replaced components.
• Ensure all work complies with engineering specifications, quality standards, and HSE requirements.
• Keep the workshop, tools, and equipment clean and properly maintained.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Engineering or Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum of SSCE/WAEC/NECO, NABTEB, Trade Test, or Technical College qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years’ practical experience as an Auto Mechanic, preferably in automobile manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environments.
• Strong practical knowledge of automotive engineering and mechanical systems is required.
• Good knowledge of engine, transmission, braking, suspension, steering, and cooling systems.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs.
• Ability to understand basic engineering drawings, measurements, and technical manuals.
• Proficiency in using automotive hand tools and workshop equipment.
• Good understanding of preventive maintenance practices.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Physically fit, safety-conscious, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
