Job Summary

• We are seeking a skilled and experienced Auto Electrician with strong practical knowledge of automotive electrical systems and engineering processes.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, diagnosing, repairing, testing, and maintaining electrical and electronic systems in vehicles and automotive components.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicle electrical and electronic systems.
• Install and maintain wiring harnesses, batteries, alternators, starters, lighting systems, and other electrical components.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Read and interpret basic electrical and engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Inspect electrical connections, wiring, fuses, relays, sensors, and control systems.
• Carry out electrical installations and modifications on vehicles and automotive components.
• Test electrical systems after repairs to ensure proper functionality and safety.
• Work closely with Mechanical Engineers, Auto Mechanics, Technicians, and Production teams.
• Apply practical engineering knowledge when diagnosing and resolving electrical faults.
• Maintain accurate records of electrical repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
• Ensure all work complies with engineering, quality, and HSE standards.
• Maintain electrical tools and workshop equipment in good working condition.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Engineering or Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum of SSCE/WAEC/NECO, NABTEB, Trade Test, or Technical College qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years’ practical experience as an Auto Electrician, preferably in automobile manufacturing, engineering, or a related industry.
• Strong practical knowledge of automotive electrical systems and engineering is required.
• Good knowledge of vehicle wiring, batteries, alternators, starters, lighting, sensors, and electrical control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret basic electrical and engineering diagrams.
• Ability to use electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of vehicle safety and electrical maintenance procedures.
• Physically fit, reliable, disciplined, and safety-conscious.
• Ability to work effectively with engineers, technicians, and other production personnel.
