Job Title: Audit Officer

Job Summary

• We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and highly disciplined Audit Officer to support the organization’s internal audit and control activities.
• The successful candidate will assist in reviewing transactions, processes, records, and operational activities to ensure compliance with approved policies, identify control weaknesses and irregularities, and support the organization in improving accountability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine financial, operational, and compliance audits.
• Review transactions, invoices, receipts, records, and supporting documents.
• Verify compliance with company policies, procedures, and approved controls.
• Perform cash, stock, asset, revenue, and transaction verification.
• Identify discrepancies, control gaps, irregularities, and potential risks.
• Investigate audit exceptions and document findings appropriately.
• Reconcile records and independently verify reported balances and transactions.
• Prepare clear audit working papers, findings, and reports.
• Follow up on agreed corrective actions and outstanding audit issues.
• Support special audits, investigations, and other assignments as directed.
• Maintain proper documentation and confidentiality of audit information.
• Recommend practical improvements to strengthen internal controls and reduce operational risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• 3-7 years’ relevant experience in internal audit, external audit, accounting, or a related role.
• ICAN, ACCA, ACA, CIA, or relevant professional qualification is an advantage.
• Good understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, audit procedures, and risk management.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting system
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies.
• Good report-writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, conduct field reviews, and meet deadlines.
• High level of integrity, objectivity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
