Job Title: Associate, Enterprise Risk Management

Location: Lagos (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-time

The Role

  • Flutterwave is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate, Enterprise Risk Management to join our dynamic team.
  • As a leading player in the financial technology sector, we are dedicated to revolutionizing the industry through innovative solutions and cutting-edge technology.
  • The Associate will play a crucial role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across our enterprise to ensure the stability and security of our operations.
  • The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and enhance risk management frameworks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities within the organization’s operations, systems, and processes.
  • Work closely with business units to understand processes and identify areas of risk exposure.
  • Utilize industry knowledge to stay informed about emerging risks and assess their potential impact on the organization and provide proactive recommendations to senior management to address these risks.
  • Assist in development and implementation of risk management strategies, policies, and procedures to mitigate identified risks and enhance the overall risk posture of the organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate risk management considerations into business processes, product development, and strategic decision-making.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments of third-party vendors and partners to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and contractual obligations.
  • Prepare and present risk reports and updates to senior management and relevant stakeholders, highlighting key risk trends, issues, and remediation efforts.
  • Support internal and external audits, regulatory examinations, and compliance reviews by providing relevant documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Build strong relationships with external stakeholders, such as regulatory bodies and industry partners.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on enterprise risk management best practices, methodologies, and tools, and provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Requirements
Required competency and skillset to be a waver:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management or a related field; advanced Degree (e.g., MBA, FRM, PRM, CFA) preferred.
  • Proven 4+ years’ experience in enterprise risk management, preferably in the fintech industry or financial services sector.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, products, and regulatory requirements relevant to the fintech industry.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles, methodologies, and best practices, with hands-on experience in risk assessment, analysis, and mitigation.
  • Proficiency in regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to fintech, such as GDPR, KYC/AML, and cybersecurity regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven track record of driving results and implementing risk management initiatives that add tangible value to the business.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
