We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Associate Counsel (Litigation)

Location: Okiti Pupa, Ondo
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in courts, tribunals, and other dispute resolution forums.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, affidavits, motions, written addresses, and briefs.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and prepare well-reasoned opinions and memoranda.
  • Attend court proceedings and manage case files through all stages of litigation.
  • Liaise with external counsel, regulatory bodies, and government agencies when necessary.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients and the firm’s management on litigation risks and dispute resolution strategies.
  • Participate in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) proceedings.
  • Maintain accurate case records, ensure timely filings, and uphold procedural compliance.
  • Supervise and mentor junior associates and legal interns where applicable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 5 – 6 years post-call experience in a reputable law firm or corporate legal department, with strong exposure to litigation and dispute resolution.
  • Proven track record of handling court matters independently.
  • Excellent legal drafting, research, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication, advocacy, and interpersonal abilities.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research tools.
