Job Title: Assistant Site Engineer

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Summary

• The ideal candidate will support the Site Engineer in overseeing construction activities, ensuring compliance with plans, safety standards, and quality control.
• This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Support site supervision, ensuring work follows plans, specs, and safety standards
• Track progress, measurements, and quantities for billing and verification
• Ensure compliance with drawings and specifications
• Coordinate material handling and storage
• Assist in quality control checks and reporting
• Maintain site records and documentation
• Promote safety compliance and report hazards
• Coordinate with teams, subcontractors, and senior engineers
• Conduct site inspections to identify potential issues
• Prepare and submit reports on project progress and issues
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve site-related issues
• Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
• Support in resolving technical issues and queries
• Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily logs and progress reports
• Participate in site meetings and contribute to discussions on project progress and challenges

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience (1–3+ years) as a site engineer or similar role in construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction methods, and safety regulations.
• Experience working withengineering software such as AutoCAD, MS Project, or Revit.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments and make decisions under pressure.
• Basic understanding of budgeting, resource allocation, and quality control.
