Job Title: Assistant Group Chef

Job Summary

• We are recruiting for an experienced Assistant Group Chef. The ideal candidate will support the Head Chef in coordinating daily food production across multiple locations, ensure consistency in food quality, supervise kitchen staff, maintain hygiene standards, and support efficient kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating daily meal preparation (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special diets)
• Supervise bulk cooking operations and ensure timely food production
• Ensure consistency in taste, portioning, presentation, and food quality across locations
• Support menu execution and step in for the Head Chef when required
• Supervise and train kitchen staff including cooks, assistants, bakers, and stewards
• Assign duties, monitor performance, and support shift scheduling
• Coordinate kitchen operations across multiple locations and ensure standardization
• Enforce food safety, HACCP standards, hygiene, and proper food storage
• Monitor inventory usage, reduce wastage, and support stock control (FIFO)
• Assist in receiving supplies, checking quality, and tracking consumption
• Oversee proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment and report faults
• Ensure meals meet client expectations and handle food quality feedback

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Catering, Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management or related field
• HACCP/Food Safety certification is an advantage
• 4–8 years’ experience in industrial or large-scale catering (Sous Chef level preferred)
• Experience managing high-volume kitchen operations
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting systems is an advantage

Salary
N400,000 – N450,000 / Month (Based on experience)
