We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Architect – Hotel Projects

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • Yimei is seeking a talented and experienced Architect with a strong background in hospitality and hotel development projects.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, design, coordination, and supervision of hotel construction and renovation projects, ensuring that all architectural works meet functional, aesthetic, operational, and regulatory requirements.
  • The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience designing and managing hotel projects and possess a solid understanding of hospitality industry standards, guest experience requirements, and construction best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop architectural concepts, designs, and detailed drawings for hotel construction and renovation projects.
  • Prepare and review architectural plans, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Coordinate with engineers, interior designers, contractors, consultants, and project teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Ensure designs comply with local building regulations, safety standards, and hospitality industry requirements.
  • Conduct site inspections and supervise construction activities to ensure compliance with approved designs and quality standards.
  • Review project progress and provide technical guidance to contractors and site teams.
  • Collaborate with management to optimize space utilization, operational efficiency, and guest experience.
  • Prepare project reports, presentations, and design proposals for management review.
  • Identify and resolve design and construction challenges in a timely manner.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Support the procurement team in reviewing architectural materials, finishes, and specifications.
  • Ensure all project documentation is properly maintained and updated.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Architecture.
  • Professional certification and registration with the appropriate architectural body is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in architectural design and project management.
  • Mandatory experience working on hotel, hospitality, resort, or serviced apartment projects.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and project management principles.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Lumion, ArchiCAD, or similar architectural software.
  • Ability to interpret and produce technical drawings and construction documentation.
  • Strong site supervision and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in hotel development, refurbishment, or conversion projects.
  • Knowledge of hotel operational requirements and hospitality design standards.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Familiarity with sustainable and energy-efficient building practices.
