Job Title: Analyst, UI/UX Designer

Location: Abuja

About the Position

  • Dev-Afrique is recruiting a full-time UI/UX designer who is passionate about development issues in Africa and excited to work at the intersection of development, industry, and governance.
  • A successful candidate will be one who is able to multitask, collaborate, and communicate expertly with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • In this role, you will be pivotal in crafting exceptional user experiences across a variety of complex projects, working closely with developers, product/project managers, and stakeholders.
  • The ideal candidate should excel at transforming concepts into refined, high-fidelity mockups that effectively meet both business objectives and user needs.

Responsibilities
While responsibilities may vary, some key duties for this position include

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and stakeholders, to define and implement innovative design solutions aligned with business goals.
  • Conduct user research and analyze findings to understand user needs, motivations, and pain points, integrating these insights into the design process.
  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, and high-fidelity mockups to illustrate design ideas and user journey concepts.
  • Develop interactive prototypes to test and refine user interfaces, ensuring ease of use and alignment with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure seamless handoff of design specifications and support the implementation of user-friendly interfaces.
  • Proactively contribute to brainstorming and ideation sessions, championing a user-centred design approach throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements 

  • Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in French is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 2+ years as a UI/UX Designer, Product Designer, or similar role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or any related/relevant field
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools.
  • Deep understanding of user-centered design (UCD) principles and the ability to apply them to create intuitive, user-friendly interfaces.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in creating pixel-perfect designs that align with brand and user requirements.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to manage relationships effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
