We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accountant

Location: Abule-Egba Lagos

Job Role

• To manage and oversee all financial records, reporting, cash flow, and internal controls for the company, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
• Monitor sales reports from POS (e.g., Loyverse).
• Reconcile cash, POS, and bank transactions.
• Track revenue across ValueMart, StaanBite, and Bakery.

Accounting & Bookkeeping:

• Maintain accurate accounting records.
• Post transactions into accounting software.
• Prepare profit & loss statements.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable.

Inventory & Cost Control:

• Monitor stock value and cost of goods sold (COGS).
• Work with supervisors to reduce shrinkage and wastage.
• Track bakery production costing.
• Conduct periodic stock audits.

Compliance & Tax:

• Prepare and file tax returns (VAT, PAYE, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with government regulations.
• Liaise with auditors when necessary.

Internal Control:

• Detect fraud or financial irregularities.
• Implement financial control systems.
• Monitor expenses and prevent overspending.

Requirements

• Minimum HND / BSc in Accounting or Finance.
• 3 – 5 years experience (retail, supermarket, or FMCG preferred).
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
• Knowledge of POS reconciliation.
• High level of integrity and confidentiality.
• Professional certification (ICAN/ACCA) is an advantage.

Salary
N130,000 – N180,000 per month.
