We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accountant

Location: Lagos Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: Managing Director or Financial Controller

Job Summary

  • The Accountant is responsible for performing a variety of accounting duties, including financial statement preparation, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. This role requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Accounting Operations: Perform daily accounting tasks, such as journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial data entry.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in preparing and maintaining budgets and forecasts, including analyzing variances and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Audits and Reviews: Assist with external audits and reviews, providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and distribute financial reports to management and other stakeholders.
  • Special Projects: Perform special projects and tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification preferred.
  • Experience: 1-3years of accounting experience, preferably in a similar industry.

Skills:

  • Proficient in accounting software, such as QuickBooks or SAP.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Others:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Working Conditions:

  • Work Environment: Office environment, ONSITE.
  • Work Schedule: Standard business hours, with occasional overtime required during peak periods.
