We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accountant

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate financial records, including daily sales, expenses, and inventory transactions.
  • Bookkeeping: Manage the general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure timely preparation and submission of tax returns, VAT, and other statutory payments in compliance with Nigerian tax laws and regulations.
  • Budget Management: Assist in developing and monitoring budgets, analysing variances, and providing insights on financial performance.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, perform regular stock audits, and reconcile discrepancies to ensure accurate inventory valuation.
  • Payroll Management: Handle payroll processing, including salary calculations, tax deductions, and pension contributions.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyse financial data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and potential areas for improvement.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Internal Controls: Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard the store’s assets and prevent financial discrepancies.
  • Vendor Management: Liaise with suppliers and vendors, manage payments, and maintain good relationships to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist in Audits: Support external auditors during financial audits and ensure compliance with audit requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the retail or fashion industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and regulations.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced retail environment.

Salary
N100,000 – N120,000 / Month.
