We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Account Officer

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Record all financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
• Update and reconcile sub-ledger to the general ledger.
• Process invoices, track payments, and manage vendor/customer accounts.
• Monitor accounts to ensure timely payments and receivables collection.
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable statements.
• Prepare financial statements (e.g., balance sheets, income statements) on a regular basis.
• Generate financial reports detailing accounts’ status and trends.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.

Compliance and Audit:

• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
• Assist in audits and collaborate with auditors to provide necessary documentation.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues in financial records.
• Liaise with internal teams, vendors, and clients to address financial queries or issues.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes.
• Provide support during financial reviews and assessments.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years relevant work experience.
• Proven work experience as an Account Officer or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
