Job Title: Academic Administrative Support Officer

Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time

Summary

  • As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced, organised, and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Academic Administrative Support Officer.
  • This role is an integral part of the learning experience at MBIS.

Job Description / Responsibilities

  • Prompt production of teaching/learning aids – such as workbooks, Lesson PowerPoint Presentations, assessments worksheets, timetables, examination scripts and Yearly calendar to enhance the learning experience of pupils
  • Daily lesson observation and feedback to ensure the school’s teaching standard is maintained
  • Coordinating and invigilating examinations
  • Collating marks and printing school reports, newsletters
  • Regularly updating the school portal
  • Assisting with basic accounting functions, such as cross-checking produced school bills, circulating, processing and reconciling all fee payments
  • Assisting in the general efficient operation of the school, including providing temporary cover for absent teaching staff where necessary for continuity of lessons
  • Assisting in coordinating curriculum-related activities such as school calendar events and termly projects/coursework
  • Liaising with and collaborating efficiently with vendors or providers of extra-curricular activities to ensure all after school enrichment programmes are running smoothly and in line with safeguarding procedures
  • Participating and coordinating of school meetings, parent information day, parent-teacher conferences and PTA
  • Undertaking other duties as assigned by the Curriculum Director.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Educational Management
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in admissions or administration within an educational environment.
  • Must live within commuting distance of Jericho, Ibadan.

Practical skills:

  • Extensive Keyboarding skills and high level of competency in IT (Email, Word Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to use relevant technology and equipment
  • Attention to detail/ability to make mathematical calculations and enter data accurately
  • Excellent Oral and written communication
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a calm approach
  • Ability to maintain strictest confidentiality and integrity at all times
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot basic electronic office equipment such as printers, laminating machines, etc.
  • Ability to maintain a moderately complex filing system and records.

Personal qualities and attributes:

  • Smart with professional appearance
  • An effective, articulate communicator who can represent the school to external audiences
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Ability to relate well with children and families
  • Ability to work constructively and collaborative as part of a team; understanding the range of staff roles and responsibilities
  • Ability to cope with periods of pressure and prioritise workload accordingly so that deadlines are met
  • Supportive of the school ethos and be aware of the requirements of working in an educational establishment
  • Resourceful, positive, and enthusiastic with a good sense of humour
  • A proactive problem-solver with the ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Monitor and assess pupils’ progress and provide regular feedback to senior management
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of pupils’ academic performance
  • Strong understanding of primary school curriculum and instructional best practices
  • Demonstrate commitment to pupil’s learning and success
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
  • Be both detailed and result-oriented.

Salary
N100,000 monthly.
