Job Description

OppApp is a new early-stage Educational technology (EdTech) and Service Provider startup based on an ambitious & exciting, yet realistic product vision. Africa is the world’s youngest continent and expanding the fastest. The number of young people working in Africa will rise to 375 million by 2030. The International Monetary Fund estimates that by 2035, there will be more young Africans joining the workforce each year than there are in the rest of the world put together due to population growth on the continent. The number of young individuals looking for work is much higher than the number of opportunities that are open to them. The skills of young people entering the workforce and the needs of companies are also out of sync.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior Brand Designer (Sweat Equity)

Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos (Fully Remote)

Job Description

  • The individuals who will be hired for this position will be given a significant amount of equity given that the company is at ideation stage.
  • The company is in its pre-seed with interest from few VCs once an MVP is made and possible grants from NEAR protocol.
  • We are at a critical stage in our growth and have an urgent need for a Senior Brand Designer.
  • Ideally, we want someone with previous startup experience who has experience in all phases of the Product process and is an expert.
  • We are looking for a highly energetic and collaborative Senior Brand Designer who can Lead /work individually with the development, QA, product owners’ team and adhere to standardized BA policies, processes, and documentation standards, overseeing and/or participating in all aspects of the Project Life Cycle.
  • We are seeking a detail-oriented, well-versed Senior Brand Designer who loves crafting comprehensive visual brands and identities.
  • As our Senior Brand Designer, you’ll work closely with the leadership and strategy team to solve our clients’ unique challenges and be responsible for the creation of branding assets such as brand identity and style guides, type systems, color systems, iconography, patterns, packaging, and more. You’ll also assist in finalizing those assets based on our direction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with domain experts and IT leadership team is key to be successful in this role.


  • Consult with leadership, as well as other team members, to achieve client and agency objectives.
  • Work as a team member to comprehensively execute brand deliverables such as identity, logomarks/logotypes, iconography, color palettes, patterns, packaging, and social templates.
  • Create beautiful design systems that makes a positive impact.
  • Can envision and execute a brand visual system in a holistic way.
  • Understands timelines and can meet established schedules, timeframes and deliverables set to be delivered to clients.
  • Maintain the highest standards for all deliverables produced.
  • Build robust visual libraries within Adobe Creative Suite for each client.
  • Work on branding projects, from brainstorming and initial concepts through final production.
  • Creation of comprehensive brand identity style guides and presentations.


  • Candidates should possess an HND / B.Sc Degree with 5 – 8 years relevant work experience.
  • Experience with creating comprehensive brand deliverables such as identity, style guides, iconography, etc.
  • A portfolio with clear signs of critical thinking and strong typography skills.
  • A strong workflow with the Adobe Suite in a Mac setting.
  • Working collaboratively is comfortable for you.
  • Ability to receive direction as well as take initiative.
  • Succinct ability to articulately explain design decisions to teammates and clients.
  • Experience with visual design mockups.
  • Have a working understanding of print and digital production.
  • Undergraduate degree in graphic design or similar experience.

  • Versatile, dynamic, and able to build out complex brand systems.
  • Passionate about typography, color, and understand brand volume and the need for flexible brand kits that clients can scale with.
