HRLeverage Africa Limited – Our client is a distributor for pumps, valves, spare parts and is involved in related aftermarket strategies such as Water/Waste Water, Industry, Mining, Energy, Building services and Energy sectors.

They are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Sales Engineer (Valves)

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • The Sales Engineer is charged with the development and growth of our client’s Valve business and market share within Nigeria.
  • The Sales Engineer will be responsible for the sales of the range of valves, and also apply technical knowledge to advice clients on the appropriate valves, actuators and automation solutions for them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, Maintain and Grow our Customer Base in Nigeria
  • Product Awareness and Marketing of the company’s Valves into the various market sectors with a special focus in Water/Waste Water, Industry, Chemicals & Petro-Chemicals, Mining;, Energy and Building Services
  • . Continuous training on products and applications to sales staff of Dealers
  • Control, manage and grow the sales of company’s Valves (new products and aftermarket)
  • Grow company’s Valves sales and company’s market shares within appointed company’s Dealers
  • Manage and motivate all Dealers and maintain a high standard of support enabling market growth to meet deadlines and achieve best possible performance
  • Ensure that the required quality standards and customer delivery dates are met by optimal utilization of the resources available
  • Ensure that Customer Relationship Management system C4C is always kept up to date with accurate customer information, customer contacts, construction sites, opportunities, and tender information.
  • Liaise with Head of Segments and other company’s Departments to improve customer satisfaction and service levels
  • Liaise with Global Projects Management on new, upcoming projects and key accounts
  • Prepare, produce, and issue reports, documents, and briefing papers according to set deadlines.
  • Update work instructions as at when required
  • Carry out all other reasonable tasks that may be delegated from time to time.

Education and Technical Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree / Higher Diploma in Engineering, Sales, or any related field.
  • 5 years of work experience with minimum of 2 years hands-on experience in valves sales
  • Proven background in Engineering preferably Mechanical/Instrumentation or Instrumentation
  • Excellent market knowledge in Nigeria
  • SAP & IT experience is of advantage
  • Experience in planning and implementing sales strategies
  • Experience in customer relationship management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to interface effectively with stakeholders
  • Management skills with proven ability to lead a team
  • Strong Microsoft office skills
  • Must be able to work with tight deadlines and prioritize without sacrificing quality of work
  • The ideal candidate should be a highly skilled, sales and service engineer with great marketing skills.
