GoVote, a Project of Co-creation Hub, is a platform that uses innovation to bridge the gap between the government and its citizens by educating and simplifying the voting process and serves as information points to different categories of voters in Nigeria.

About GoVote
First launched in 2015, GoVote is a platform and campaign to educate Nigerians on how to register to vote in the General Elections and to mobilise them to do so. Using Govote.ng as a focal point, we are proposing an aggressive voter mobilisation drive which aims to register 5,000,000 people by the 2023 elections. Leveraging technology and community networks, the project is targeted at mobilising young people aged 18 – 40, but also other demographics and blocks of people who would not ordinarily vote, to exercise their constitutional right to choose who they are governed by at all levels of government.

Job Description

  • GoVote is looking to recruit a Project Associate who will work closely with the Project Manager to deliver on the project goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide programme management support
  • Provide administrative support to the project planning and activity implementation.
  • Design and develop election information content for online and offline materials.
  • Support the preparation of grant documentation
  • Support knowledge sharing and capacity building
  • Any other duties as assigned by the organisation

Qualifications
Knowledge / Skills / Experience:

  • A minimum Bachelor’s from an accredited university (in Administration, International Relations, Policy, Political Science, Social Sciences or related field).
  • One (1) year cognate experience within the civil society, social justice, funder/donor space in the area of governance and elections.
  • A solid understanding of the Nigerian democratic and governance space with relations to government agencies, civil society, start-ups and the development partner community.
  • Demonstrates understanding and use of basic project management. methodologies, including the ability to plan, manage and maintain a complex, organisation wide program over the longer term.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Practical knowledge of different message distribution techniques to ensure end user communities understand and continually apply the and engage Nigeria citizenry offline and online.
  • Effective use of digital technology, such as audio, video, social media, online communities, blogs, and other web-based technologies to drive and effect change.
  • Creative thinking and understanding of multicultural audiences to produce engaging materials in a variety of formats and media.
  • Resilience and flexibility to explore different paths to achieve an outcome and adjust quickly and efficiently to new circumstances and measured results
  • Confidently develops and delivers ‎presentations.
  • Highly organised and able to multitask and manage concurrent deadlines.

Key Skills:

  • At least 1 year working knowledge within an NGO or civil society on elections and governance.
  • Excellent communication and content marketing skills in election and governance issues
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage data, documents, and share timely reports on projects.
