Golden Alpine Hotel and Resort, a new modern 4 Star Hotel located in Yola, Adamawa State, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: General Manager

Location: Yola, Adamawa
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The GM is the overall strategic business leader responsible for all operational aspects of the hotel such as guests satisfaction, sales and revenue, financial performance, human resource management and delivering a good return on investment.
  • The GM is actively involved in the local community and builds strong relationships with local officials, businesses, and customers.

Job Specific Responsibilities
Development of the Hotel’s Business Strategy :

  • Stays current with industry trends and monitors strengths and weakness of competition; explores new business opportunities; develops and execute business plans to exploit the opportunities to maximize customer satisfaction, profitability, and market share;
  • Responsible for getting the management team to successfully deliver the business plans; introduce new ideas and innovations to improve guest satisfaction and profitability;
  • Monitor and evaluate performance for continued improvement in the physical and operational aspects of the hotel.

Sales and Marketing:

  • Develop revenue generating strategies for the hotel and ensure the marketing teams achieve set objectives;
  • Identifies new business leads, develops tailored sales approach, and actively pursues leads with Sales and Marketing team;
  • Validates that sales and marketing strategy is aligned with brand strategy and is effectively executed against established goals;
  • Verifies that property leaders understand and leverage Marriott demand engines to full potential; augments guest preference for property through booking ease and quality interactions with sales force.

Talent Management and Organizational Capability:

  • Creates a cohesive and high-performance workforce that continuously achieve set objectives.
  • Creates learning and development opportunities for employees; and ensures all managers are doing the same for their direct reports.

Business Information Analysis:

  • Reviews business related data such as market share, financial performance, inventory, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction and ensure that the hoteloperates within budgetary guidelines, and achieves profit margin goals.

Revenue Management:

  • Established revenue strategy that supports the hotel’s positioning in lthe market.

Owner Relations:

  • Provides owners with in-depth analysis of property performance, incorporating guest, financial and employee business data;
  • Periodically submit performance report to the owners.

Customer and Public Relations Management:

  • Interacts and obtain feedback from guests to recognize outstanding employee service performance and improve service delivery;
  • Establishes presence in the market by actively promoting an exemplary hotel image,
  • Anticipates needs of large groups or high profile guests in order to deliver flawless service;
  • Ensure the hotel attain the appropriate publicity.

Candidate Profile
Education and Experience:

  • Degree from an accredited University in Business Administration, Hotel Management, or related area; 6 years experience in the management, operations, sales and marketing, finance and accounting, in the hotel and hospitality industry.

Preferred:

  • Hotel General Manager experience.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays and late nights.
  • Property industry work experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance.
