We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Finance and Grant Manager

Location: Yola, Adamawa
Employment Type: Full Time

Position Description

  • The Finance and Grant Manager would be responsible for setting up and establishing a world-class financial system that supports various grant implementations and promotes accountability, transparency, and compliance across the organization.
  • The Finance and Grants Manager would lead the overall technical delivery of all finance and grants components of each Nuru Nigeria’s program implementation.

Reporting and Supervision:

  • The Finance and Grant Manager will report to the Managing Director.
  • The Finance and Grant Manager will supervise the Finance Coordinator, Finance Officer, and the Grant Officer.

Core Responsibilities

  • The grant and finance manager will provide overall technical and administrative leadership in the areas of financial management and grants management for all of Nuru Nigeria’s program
  • General responsibilities will include accounts payable, cost allocation, quarterly reporting, cash requests, tax remittances, bank reconciliation, payroll review, budget preparation, grants management, and tracking support.
  • In addition, the Manager will be responsible for setting up, managing, and providing technical assistance related to the grant-making component of the program activities.
  • S/he will ensure that all financial and grants management and reporting are compliant with USAID, GIZ, NI, ACT, and other donors’ grants management and financial management regulations.
  • Develop annual fiscal year budgets with the Managing Director, as well as develop and implement grant budgeting and forecasting systems.
  • Keep the grant files updated with budgets, grant contracts, and agreements
  • Ensure document completeness, accuracy, and timeliness both in hard copies and on the e-platforms
  • Develop relevant templates, risk management, and internal control systems that mitigate fraud.
  • Provide needed information for internal and external auditors, prepare expenditure listing, schedule of expenditures, and other audit requirements as needed.
  • And any other responsibilities as assigned by the Managing Director.

Terms and Conditions

  • The appointment will be for a 12months period, renewable based on funding and performance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Candidate must be a Chartered Accountant with any recognized National or International body.
  • At leave seven years of experience in Financial Management and post-graduate qualifications in Finance, Business Administration, Management, or Accounting;
  • Experience managing grants with international development programs and donor funds is strongly preferred, especially for USAID and GIZ.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, leadership, creative problem-solving,and ethical management;
  • Strong data analysis and report writing skills;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • A broad and deep understanding of the policies and grant agreements as well as regulations and procedures
  • Demonstrated experience in grants management or program development.
  • Prior knowledge of donor regulations (in particular USAID).
  • Strong skills in financial analysis and reporting
  • Strong data collection, problem-solving, highly detail-oriented, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to meet juggle competing priorities, meet demanding deadlines and work under pressure
  • Ability to work effectively within a complex structured team.
  • Good collegial interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing, and by phone.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective professional working relationships.
  • Team-oriented; able to effectively respond to routine situations
  • Ability to provide ideas and recommendations to resolve routine issues.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to professional responsibilities.

Nuru Nigeria Offers

  • Compensation range is NGN 8,640,000 – NGN 10,080,000 subject to statutory deductions
  • 18 working days of paid leave, 15 Days of paternity leave, and 120 calendar days of paid Annual leave
  • 13th-month remuneration up to 70% of monthly gross.
