Job Title: Collections Supervisor

Locations: Oregun, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Collection Supervisor to lead our collections team.
  • The Collection Supervisor will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to effectively manage and recover outstanding debts while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy Development:

  • Develop and implement effective debt collection strategies.
  • Continuously review and enhance collection processes to maximize recovery rates.
  • Analyze customer data to identify patterns and trends in delinquent accounts.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and motivate the collections team to achieve targets and objectives.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members.
  • Set clear performance goals and monitor team progress.

Portfolio Management:

  • Monitor and manage the company’s loan portfolio.
  • Review and categorize delinquent accounts, implementing appropriate collection actions.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate collection policies and procedures.

Communication and Customer Relations:

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers.
  • Handle escalated customer inquiries and complaints regarding collections.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines while interacting with customers.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare regular reports on collection performance for management.
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to collections.

Legal Compliance:

  • Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations governing debt collection.
  • Ensure all collection practices are compliant with legal requirements.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s Degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in collections management, preferably in a financial institution or fintech.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing debt collection.
  • Proficiency in using collection software and tools.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
