Job Title: Chief Technology Officer

Job Summary

• The main objective of the role is to develop a strategy for using technological resources, ensure technologies are used efficiently, profitably and securely as well as evaluate and implement new systems and technology infrastructure for the organization. This role reports to the Managing Partner.

Responsibilities 

• Develop technical aspects of the company’s strategy to ensure alignment with its business goals;
• Discover and implement new technologies that yield competitive advantage;
• Help departments use technology profitably;
• Build quality assurance and data protection processes;
• Monitor KPIs and Engineering budgets to assess technological performance;
• Use stakeholders’ feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments to technology;
• Communicate technology strategy to partners and investors;
• Present reports on the company’s technology status, goals and or progress
• Create and implement technology strategies;
• Align the company’s technology resources with the organization’s short and long-term goals;
• Serve on the executive committee to align technology goals to other departmental and organizational objectives;
• Identify what technologies can be used to improve the company’s products and services;
• Direct the strategic technical vision for the company;
• Works in a consultative fashion with other department heads, such as Marketing, Finance, Compliance as an advisor of technologies that may improve their efficiencyand effectiveness;
• Define the development stack, technical roadmap and IT framework in collaboration with Product Managers;
• Assist in recruiting, manage and mentor a top-class and motivated development team;
• Create a high performance, innovative, collaborative, continuous learning and improving technology culture;
• Be part of the executive team: Identify technology-related opportunities and risks for delivering the company’s services including technology;
• Develop and direct safeguards to reduce the risk of outside breaches, fraud and compliance;
• Make presentations to the board of directors and Managing Partner;
• Identify competitive advantages and technological trends for the benefit of the company.

Requirements

• Previously held a role as Engineering manager or CTO;
• At least 10 years experience in Software Engineering, at least 5 of those years in
• Managerial/supervisory roles;
• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field;
• Must have completed the compulsory NYSC program;
• MBA is an added advantage;
• Experience of building large backend solutions / architecture;
• Experience in building web and mobile applications;
• Excellent understanding of product-oriented technical development;
• Commercial awareness partnered with a strategic mindset Project and product management know-how;
